Here at Indie Business Live, we know the current situation is taking a heavy toll on the wellbeing of small business owners and we also believe that the the health of a small business depends on the health of its owner.
We therefore compiled 5 wellbeing tips for business owners and as research suggests that spending time in green space or being around nature can benefit your mental health in several ways, we’ve outlined some tips for how you can maximise its benefits. For example, doing things like growing food or flowers, exercising outdoors or being around animals can have lots of positive effects and can:
- improve your mood
- reduce feelings of stress or anger
- help you take time out and feel more relaxed
- improve your physical health
- improve your confidence and self-esteem
- help you be more active
- help you make new connections
Mind has lots of brilliant suggestions of how you can introduce nature into your everyday life and some of these don’t even involve leaving the house, it might simply involve creating and nurturing a herb garden on your windowsill, going for a walk each day, pruning your garden, walking a friends’ dog or introducing some new plants into your home.
It’s also work noting that getting outside every day in natural light, can also help if you suffer from Seasonal Affective Disorder.
Whatever you choose, it has to be right for you and your lifestyle but we hope that in these suggestions you can find something in nature that makes you feel better.
